Project Overview

JM Stenson Construction Ltd was appointed Design and Build Contractor and PSCS on this project in May 2025.

We successfully delivered this logistically challenging project on time and within budget.

Our Design and Build team consisted of the following;

• Architect: MRL Architects Ltd
• Consultant engineers: Doran Engineers
• M&E Consultants: IN2 Engineering Design Partnership
• Fire consultants: Eamon O’Boyle & Associates
• Assigned Certifier: MRL Architects Ltd.
• Electrical Contractor: Lyons Electrical Ltd.
• Mechanical Contractor: Celt Engineering Ltd.

The project involved the design and construction of a new 5 bed Radiology Dayward including , Staff area , Clean Utility , Sluice rooms , Changing area , Mammography reporting room, DWC, within the existing radiology department of a live hospital.

The works comprised of:

• Designing a new ward within the existing Mammography Ward.
• Applying for and being granted Fire and DAC Certification
• Demolition of existing structure
• Installation of new mechanical and electrical Infrastructure
• Installation of medical Gases and bed head trunking
• Installation of IPS units
• Installation of Medical grade Fire doors
• Wall flooring and ceiling finishes to highest Infection Control Standards (HTMs)
  Roof upgrade
• Installation of new Fire prevention, resistance and insulated systems
• The challenge was working within the existing radiology department in a live hospital environment where there was no access for construction traffic
