Beaumount Hybrid Theatre
Project Overview
Officially opened in February 2025, JM Stenson Construction is proud to have led the construction of Beaumont Hospital’s state-of-the-art Hybrid Theatre. This cutting-edge facility seamlessly integrates a fully equipped operating room with advanced imaging technology, positioning Beaumont Hospital at the forefront of medical innovation.
The project presented unique challenges, particularly in integrating a modular structure within the existing hospital footprint. Our team remained focused on delivering the build with minimal disruption to ongoing hospital operations, while upholding the highest standards of patient dignity, infection control, and staff comfort.
Working in collaboration with the design team from tender through to final delivery, JMSC managed all aspects of compliance, including Fire and DAC certification.
The 104 m² theatre includes:
- An operating and scanning suite
- Anaesthetic room
- Control room
- Recovery area
- Prep room
- Sterile stores
- Plant rooms
The facility was completed with full electrical infrastructure including UPS and IPS systems, and mechanical systems such as AHU, heating/cooling, and medical gases. The envelope and automatic doors were constructed with Code 5 lead shielding to meet stringent radiation protection standards. All works were carried out in full accordance with HTM and HBN healthcare guidelines.
Close coordination with the hospital’s clinical, IPC, health and safety, and facilities teams helped optimise the layout during design. JMSC also oversaw the delivery and installation of specialist equipment, including the Siemens Artis Pheno imaging system.
